Best Views in Los Angeles | 4 Los Angeles Locations with Amazing Views

May 15, 2013

Do you live in Los Angeles, are you planning to, or just are looking for something to read while you procrastinate your 9 to 5 job? Well, then you'll certainly be interested in knowing where the most amazing views in Los Angeles are. If you need somewhere to take your date or your kids, this one's for you. We'll be showing you around the four best views in Los Angeles, along with photos from each, after the jump:

The Griffith Observatory | Best View of Los Angeles

Let's start with a classic: the Griffith Observatory. Though it's well known as a great place to take your kids, fewer people choose to use it to view the beautiful skyline of Los Angeles. From the edge of this monument you'll be able to see the entire Los Angeles sprawl on a clear night, stretching out into the distance for miles, with the soaring skyscrapers of downtown serving as your sole spatial indicator. (Other than, of course, the stars.)  Sink into the dreamy abyss of infinite cityscapes. Feel the melody of the urban wonderland. And of course, check out the great view of the Hollywood sign.

Santa Monica Pier | Best Views in Los Angeles

Absolutely stunning. The view in both directions from the Santa Monica Pier, both out to the sea and into Los Angeles, is a treat that you'd never want to miss. From the top of the Ferris Wheel, it's been said that you can see all the way to Hawaii; these claims have neither been confirmed or denied in my personal experience, so we'll treat them as a possibility. If you come to Los Angeles, be sure to stop by the Santa Monica Pier for one of the best views in Los Angeles, and of course for the wonderful Pacific Park, an amusement park that's been widely accoladed as one of the most nostalgic amusement parks remaining in the United States.

Dodger Stadium | Gorgeous Los Angeles Views

There's more reasons to come here than just the view, though it is stunning. Opened in 1962, Dodgers Stadium is a historical landmark in MLB history, known for hosting events such as the 1980 MLB All-Star Game. Here, you can experience the rich history of the Los Angeles Dodgers, chow down on some overpriced hot dogs, and be one with the sensuous and storied past of American baseball. Oh, and watch an excellent baseball game. Though the vantage point shown above isn't the prettiest for baseball enthusiasts, it is excellent for a spectacular view of this grand stadium.

The Hollywood Sign | Best Views in Los Angeles

From behind the Hollywood sign, you'll see not only a famous landmark from a whole new perspective, but also a great panorama of West Hollywood and Mount Lee. Unfortunately, security cameras and an electrified fence now prevent the casual visitor from actually going up to the sign in an attempt to prevent vandalism, but you can still see the magnificent view from a vantage point slightly removed. It really doesn't matter how you cut it: Los Angeles is beautiful from any angle.
