Katy Perry's 4th Of July Performance | Kenny Chesney (VIDEO)

July 06, 2012

This last 4th of July was a blast, and not just because of the hot dogs, beer, and American flags floating around. For America's Independence Day in 2012, we were treated to the eye candy of Katy Perry and Kenny Chesney performing for Macy's Fireworks Spectacular, and boy, was it spectacular. Chesney gave an excellent, live performance on the rooftops of NYC at one of the hottest bars around, but Katy Perry, of course, stole the show with her hit single "Fireworks".  Here's the videos of each of their performances, as well as some photos of Katy Perry performing in her oh-so-hot American flag.

We all saw this coming. Katy Perry, with her latest hit "Fireworks" that picked up over 300 million views on Youtube, was going to be the star of the show on Independence Day, and she was excellent. Dressed in an American flag, she performed before a crowd of 2,000 military personnel and numerous other people who presumably snuck in by simply donning a white cap and May. That's right, the event was pretaped, in order to avoid weather complications. And after seeing the crazy pyrotechnics that go on behind her, you'll appreciate the foresight.

Kenny Chesney 4th of July Performance

Chesney, on the other hand, didn't take the easy route out. He gave our NYC fans a live performance on the rooftop of the 230 Fifth Bar in NYC's Flatiron District, performing hits such as Summertime and Come Over. Wish you'd been there? The 4,000 tickets were available for free on, so if you're looking to see country stars in NYC in the future, I'd bookmark that page. Check out the video of his performance of Summertime below:
